Got up to stalk Grace, decided to stretch <yawn>, stretched really hard (pouncing is hard work), and fell asleep!

Oww! mew mew mew

Oww!  mew mew mew  We got shots today.  And our ears cleaned.  Mom says we were perfect angels though, even though she could tell we were scared. 

And we're getting so much bigger!  Princess Grace went from .76 lbs to 1.3 lbs and Prince Finn went from 1.2 lbs to 2.1 lbs.   Mom was not surprised by Finn, she says he's going to be a big ol' Tom cat, but was really happy about Grace, even though she's still worried.   The vet says it's ok though!  Grace is just catching up since she was so much tinier and underweight when she was found.

Hear ye! Hear ye!

A new royal game has been identified.  Finn and Grace have developed King of the Condo.

One royal member ascends to the top of the condo and knocks the other one off as they try to climb up its side. 

Much fun is had.

In a twist on the game, one royal member stays inside the cubby hole while the other attacks from up top. 

Both the Prince and the Princess are vastly entertained, on either iteration of the new game.

Eagerly awaited interview with Prince Finn

Our apologies for yesterday's  delay in the exclusive interview with Kingdom's own Prince Finn.  Our Princess Grace is recovering nicely from yesterday's trauma at the hands of Giver of Bath.

What are your favorite games, Prince Finn?
I like to chase around the room with Grace and then I catch her or she catches me and we wrestle until she mew mew mews and Mom picks her up.  Sometimes she picks me up instead and I purr.  We have a new game called Under the Bed.  She gets under the bed and attacks me through the hang-y thing-y and I attack her back through it.  Getting under Mom's feets is another great one.  She yells, "Finn!!" and I run around in circles and roll over for a belly rub. 

Is there anything new you've discovered?
Yes!!  Now that I can climb on the bed I snuggle alongside my Mom's leg.  It is nice and warm and she rubs my belly until I purr to sleep.

How did yesterday's traumatic events affect you?
I'm fine.  Princess Grace is scared of leaving the Kingdom of Bedroom, but I know I can take on the Giver of Bath.  <licks paw>

What are your favorite things?
Snuggles. Always with the snuggles and belly rubs.  Mom picks me up and tells me I'm too wound up and snuggles me in her arm until I am nice and calm.  And food.  I love food.  Love food, love it.  I would eat all the time but Mom takes my bowls away if I walk away from them.  So I lay in them.

Is there anything you don't like?
Naw.  As long as I get snuggles and food... and my mom's feets. 

Headline News! Princess Grace has been kittennapped!

Our originally schedule exclusive interview with Prince Finn has been delayed due to late breaking news.  Live from the threshold of Cubby Hole, we will keep you updated with developments as we receive them!

Early this morning Princess Grace was taken from the Kingdom of Bedroom.  She was picked up by Mom and whisked quietly away while Prince Finn was distracted at Food Bowl.

From her account she was taken to the neighboring Kindgom of Kitchen and placed in Cold Metal Basin where Mom turned into the kitten royalty nemesis, Giver of Bath.

Princess Grace reports between mew mews and hiccups that she was subjected to a warm water bath where Giver of Bath exclaimed several times about long haired kittens getting dirty bottoms that needed to be cleaned.  After that she was place in a warm towel and scrubbed and then combed and scrubbed and combed until near dryness had set in.

After cuddling on Mount Bed by Giver of Bath who had returned to her correct state of Mom, she was returned promptly to her place in Cubby Hole to recouperate.

Prince Finn, was located on Mount Bed at the base of Pile O'Pillow and apprised of the events.  He has vowed royal retribution.  "meow this cannot stand!  We will retaliate meow.  No surface is safe and we will activate all alarm clocks at various hours.  Meow! We will step up our attack on Toes!"

He immediately rushed to Princess Grace's side when she was returned to Cubby Hole to offer comfort, and protection against additional incursions from Giver of Bath.

"Please no more pictures or questions!  Meow!  We need to respect Princess Grace's need for privacy in this moment.  Meow!"

At the royal family's request we'll give them peace in these trying times and will bring you an exclusive interview with Prince Finn in tomorrows posting! Stay tuned....

An interview with the Princess....

What are your favorite toys?
My moms shoes!  I prefer her toes in them, though.  And Finn's tail.  And this new toy she dangles that we swat and chase when it bounces away.

What do you hate to do most?
Baths!  My mom gives them to me all the time.  She says I have a dirty bottom.  She uses wipes on me too, and I hate those too.  I mew mew mew at her but she still won't stop.  

What do you love most?
Snuggling with Mom and wrestling with Finn.  Sometimes I think he plays too hard so I yell "mew mew mew" and Mom picks us up.  Mom says I am a big baby and to quit picking fights with the tom cat.  I can't help it... his tail is just there!!  And I dont know why she calls Finn "Tom" when his name is Finn. But then she snuggles me until I purr and get sleepy.

What are you proud of?
Getting on the bed!  I can get my Mom's toes when she is sleeping.  She wakes up and says "Oh, Grace!"  then hides them from me.

What are you least proud of?
Sometimes  I forget to use the litter box.. If Mom catches me she yells "Grace!" and grabs me and runs me to my box.  Then she pulls out a noisy machine that cleans up my accident.  I think this is why she calls us little stinkers....

Whats an average day in the life of Princess Grace like?
Its good!  Mom feeds us then we go potty and play and get snuggles from Mom and then nap.  And its like that all day.  Sometimes Mom leaves for a long time.  She calls it work.  And she leaves us a big bowl of dry food she has softened.  Its delicious!

Finn has figured out getting on the bed.  Came home to find him lounging and all the stuff on my night stand knocked off.....

Sweet Grace only comes up to be with me... not make mischief!

Game of Cubby Holes

After the sad death of the beloved and  benevolent tyrant, Prince Poopiebutt  the first of his name, in the Kingdom of Bedroom, the citizenry has been waiting to see who would ascend the cubby hole. Two contenders have emerged to the forefront... Princess Grace of the Ragdolls and Prince Finn of the Tabbies.

The two have formed an alliance for playtime and naptime, but show signs of mild skirmish for resources like food and litter. 

Princess Grace, like her Ragdoll people shows an easy temperament and docile nature. But that does not mean she is a pushover. She has no problem standing her ground against a bully over the food dish and has shown signs of being an intrepid adventurer. She is the first to scale the Giant mountain in the middle of their Kingdom called The Bed and summited the peak called Pile O'Pillow.

Prince Finn has a much more outgoing nature and likes to be into a little bit of everything. And while he shows signs of being a tyrant he purrs happily as he tries to claim the food bowl and litter box endearing himself to his citizen and irritating Princess Grace. He was the first to claim cubby hole in his name but has since split the reign with Princess Grace. Probably due to her stubborn refusal to move....

This is a tale of two rulers and one cubby hole. Will they remain a friendly alliance or will a true ruler emerge?  For now an alliance against their nemesis.... The Giver of Bath!

Wednesday

Our 1st full week at our new home!   Finn has started to get very solid and has leveled up in his playfulness...  he is non-stop play and non-stop eat.  Grace is living up to the ragdoll temperament and is super easy going and prefers snuggling.  However, she doesn't let Finn bully her out of her food or litterbox.  She uses patience and a well placed shove to stand her ground.

While boxes are their favorite "toys" they're both enjoying napping in the kitty condo.

Uneventful Tuesday

Grace and I took a siesta while Finn terrorized kitten toy town.

Monday Monday

Today was our first trip to the vet. She made us drink some yucky stuff and weighed us.  Finn is 1.2 pounds and Grace is .76 pounds. The vet estimates that Finn is 5 weeks old and Grace is 4 weeks old.  

Grace figured it out how to get up on the bed and made herself right at home on top of the pillows!

Sunday Visits with the little people

The kids were very surpised about a special visit from Grace & Finn on Sunday.  The kittens seemed to be as easy with the kids as they are with me and quickly snuggled in!
